What the Pixel 10a has in store for us: technical specifications and expectations

As Google prepares to launch its Pixel 10a in the spring of 2026, a leak from the operator Verizon, relayed by Evan Blass, offers a glimpse of the upcoming smartphone. However, those hoping for major changes might be disappointed. Indeed, the new version seems to be a continuation of the previous model, the Pixel 9a, with few notable modifications.

The 3 key points not to miss

  • The Pixel 10a features a 6.3-inch pOLED display with a 1080p resolution, identical to the previous model.
  • The smartphone retains a 5100 mAh battery and a duo of 48 and 13-megapixel camera sensors.
  • The Tensor G4 processor, already present in the Pixel 9a, will be used, thus missing the recent improvements of the Tensor G5.

Unchanged display

The Pixel 10a retains the 6.3-inch pOLED display with a 1080p resolution, just like the Pixel 9a. The pOLED technology, which uses a plastic substrate, offers better shock resistance and allows for reduced phone bezels. Previously published renders had already revealed this familiar design, thus confirming the absence of major novelty on this side.

Performance and battery life

The internal configuration of the Pixel 10a remains stable with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, which is quite standard. The battery life should continue to be one of the smartphone’s strengths thanks to its 5100 mAh battery, which promises long usage time.

Unfortunately, the absence of the Tensor G5 processor in the “a” model is disappointing. The Pixel 10a retains the Tensor G4, a chip developed with Samsung, which does not benefit from the recent improvements in energy efficiency and computing power observed in high-end models.

Camera module and user expectations

For photography, Google remains faithful to its proven formula with a main 48-megapixel sensor and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle with a 120-degree field of view. This configuration, although efficient, will not surprise users accustomed to previous generations.

Fans of the brand were hoping for more marked innovations, particularly in terms of performance and features. However, it seems that Google has chosen to play the card of continuity rather than rupture.

Google and its Pixel range

Since the launch of the Pixel range, Google has positioned itself as a key player in the smartphone field, focusing on the quality of photography and seamless integration of Google services. Although the “a” series is designed to offer a Pixel experience at a more affordable price, it has often been criticized for its lack of innovation compared to flagship models.

The Pixel 10a seems to follow this line, favoring a proven formula rather than technological innovations. As the smartphone market is constantly evolving, Google may need to reconsider its strategy for future models to meet consumer expectations and remain competitive.
